Species: Mainly Trout and Salmon but Pike, Perch, Roach, Loach and Eels are present. Regulations apply to all species.

Formed July 1974, Ballymore Eustace Salmon and Trout Anglers Association (BMESTAA) is a dedicated angling club focused on protecting and promoting salmon and trout fishing on the River Liffey near Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, Ireland.
The club is a member of TAFI and ITFFA and actively involved in river conservation, environmental advocacy against pollution and appealing planning decisions affecting the river.
We provide angling information, engage with local councils and the EPA, and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2024, highlighting our long-standing fight for the river's health.
Bye-law No. CS 330, 2019 prohibits angling for salmon on the River Liffey.
Bye-law No. 982, 2020 Anglers may only use single barbless hooks when angling on the River Liffey downstream of Golden Falls Dam.
Bye-law No. 982, 2020 also prohibits the use of worms as bait.
Bye-law No. CS 319, 2015 prohibits angling for eel.
REGULATIONS
No commercial exploitation of the association's waters including guiding for reward.
Members must not damage fences, leave gates open, or spread litter.
Members must not when fishing be accompanied by dog or guns.
Members must carry fishing permit on person when fishing.
Members must return all fish under 10 inches (25cm) to water.
When an angler has a pool occupied, a member must not "step in" in front of him and start fishing.
Members must only fish one rod.
Bag limit - 2 Trout.
Members must not fish in "No Fishing" areas.
Ground Baiting Prohibited.
Waters of River Liffey closed to all fishing from October to February inclusive. Golden Falls Lake closed to all fishing during October.

N.B. FISHING PERMIT ONLY: This does NOT allow the holder to hunt, shoot, swim, picnic, walk dogs, boat, etc.
FISHING RIGHTS: Both banks of the River Liffey from Golden Falls, Ballymore Eustace, to the upper reaches of Beaumount Estate, Harristown. Also Golden Falls Lake and Lucan Demense. Access only to Association Water when carrying a fishing rod for angling. Access to Golden Falls Lake -via- Uisce Éireann (stile), Filter Beds Rd., and Mr. P. Byrne (stile) , Leahy's Lane.
